Oil Firm Signs Revised MOU With Govt, Communities

To sustain its cordial relationship with akwa-ibom government and its host commmunity,an indigenious Oil company operating in the state, Frontier Oil Limited/Seven Uquo Gas Limited
(FOL-SUGL) has signed a revised memorandum of understanding (MOU)with parties involved to subsist for five years.

The breakdown of the MOU shows that the immediate host communities have 32 percent,host communities in Eket 30 percent, host communities in Esit Eket , 28 percent while the Akwa-Ibom
government has 10 percent.while signing the MOU at the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources conference Hall, Uyo, the managing director of FOL, Mr. Dada Thomas, accompanied by management staff of the company, thanked its host communities for their cordial working relationship with the company.

Thomas, an engineer,challenged the MOU implementation committee to work towards implementing the MOU signed between the company and its host commmunities in good spirit to enable them succeed.
