Engr Solomon Dada Thomas (MNSE, P.Eng.) – Chief Executive Officer
Engr Dada Thomas is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Oil Limited. He has over 37 years of experience in the oil and gas industry majoring chiefly in Process & Facilities Engineering & Project Management. Engr. Thomas worked for 21 years with the Shell Group and managed a variety of increasingly complex engineering projects and general management roles in both Nigeria and Holland before setting up Frontier Oil Ltd.
He resigned from Shell in 1998 to set up Tri-Ocean Nigeria Engineering Ltd., a joint venture between Tri-Ocean Engineering Ltd and Leed Technology Ltd providing engineering and related services to the international oil companies in Nigeria. In 2001, with other Nigerian partners he bought out Tri-Ocean Engineering Ltd and re-branded the company as Fairshores Ltd and also founded Frontier Oil in 2001.
Engr Thomas is a graduate of Loughborough University of Technology, United Kingdom and is a registered engineer in Nigeria and Alberta, Canada.
Alhaji Abdullah Bukar (FNSE) – Joint Venture Engineering & Projects Director
Alhaji Bukar has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Bukar’s career started with the Shell Group as a trainee Facilities Engineer and spans a broad range of engineering and Field Operations management roles which included a variety of onshore and offshore engineering projects in Nigeria, Holland and Australia over a 35-year period (1972-2007).
While at Shell, he served as the Operations Services Manager, for the Western Nigeria assets of Shell, based in Warri. In this position, he was solely responsible for overseeing the daily production of over 500,000 barrels of oil a day and 600mmscf/d of gas supply to the domestic market in the early 2000s. He also worked to develop the approved Shell plan for putting out the Associated Gas flares. He retired from Shell as General Manager Engineering for all Shell Companies in Nigeria with annual Capital expenditure in excess of US$500million annually.
A successful project manager who saw the delivery of the Sapele and Oben Gas Projects, the East Netherlands Sour Gas and Schoonebeck Oil Redevelopment Projects, the South Forcados Development Project including the Trans-Ramos Trunkline to bring on stream and evacuate 300mbopd, the redevelopment of Forcados Crude Oil Export Terminal, as well as Operational stint in the Northwest Shelf of Western Australia aboard the Woodside Petroleum managed Cossack Pioneer FPSO.
As firm believer in the capability of Nigerian Engineers, he promoted and implemented Competence Development and Training Programs to foster professional development of Nigerian Engineers and ensure maximum local content in all aspects of Oil and Gas Fields Development and Projects delivery. He joined the FOL Uquo JV team in 2007, after his retirement from Shell.
Alhaji Bukar holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Swansea, Wales. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and is registered with COREN.
He has been seconded by Septa Uquo Gas Limited to the Uquo joint venture operations.
Promise Egele (S.P.E) – Joint Venture Subsurface Development Director
Promise Egele with over 35 year oil industry experience started his career with the Shell Group in Nigeria as a junior Geophysicist / Seismologist. Within the course of a career that spanned more than 27 years, he served as Head of Evaluation (Chief Geologist), Exploration Manager, and Petroleum Engineering Manager. In these positions, he was responsible for the discovery, development and optimization of a number of major oil and gas reserves within and outside Nigeria (including the Dutch North Sea).
A successful sub-surface evaluator who has held senior management positions in Shell Nigeria, made significant contributions to Shell Group's reserves growth through successive discoveries (e.g. the Awoba Field discovery, the HB Offshore Field discovery, the Santa Barbara South Field discovery and many more in the North Sea).
Prior to retirement from Shell, Engr Egele served as the Shell Africa Regional Non Operated Assets manager with responsibility for exploration, development and optimization of hydrocarbon assets throughout Sub Sahara Africa (Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Angola, Namibia) and Mauritania for the Shell Group. He retired from Shell in May, 2007 and joined the FOL Uquo JV team as the Development Director responsible for sub-surface development of the Uquo Marginal Field.
Promise Egele is a well-known industry expert on the geology of the Niger-Delta, as well as a Fellow and past President of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) amongst other international and local exploration societies.
Mr. Egele graduated from the University of Ibadan with a degree in Geology. He has been seconded to the Uquo Joint Venture operations by SUGL.
Innocent Ihebuzor (BSC, ACMA, ACA) – Joint Venture Finance Director
Innocent Ihebuzor has over 35 years experience in oil and gas industry. Innocent started his career in 1979 as trainee accountant in Elf Petroleum Nigeria Ltd (now Total E&P Nigeria Ltd) after graduating from the University of Lagos in 1978 with the best Accounting degree result and completing the National Youth Service in Ibadan.
During his over 27 years career in Total E&P Nigeria Ltd (TOTAL oil & gas group affiliate), he held various managerial positions such as Accounting Manager, Finance Systems & Methods Manager and Cost Control Manager. He rose to the position of Deputy General Manager Finance & Control and later General Manager in Finance and Control Division. Innocent’s experience in TOTAL group covered practically all areas of oil and gas Finance and Control function including Budgeting & budgetary control, Cost Control, Accounting, Tax, Joint venture budget/Accounting/Financing, Systems & Methods, Internal and Partner Audit functions, SAP implementation & coordination, Insurance . While in TOTAL, he had several career postings outside Nigeria in various TOTAL affiliates in France, Holland, other parts of Europe, the middle-east and Africa. On a company-wide scale in TOTAL E&P, he headed and participated in several committees & task forces including Pension, Cash Calls, Systems implementations, Building, Contracts, Human Capital Project, Job Evaluation, Audit, NEITI (Management contact) etc
With a flair for practical, analytic and pedagogic approach to work, he readily shares professional knowledge and enjoys coaching and mentoring colleagues.
Innocent joined the FOL Uquo JV team as Finance Director in 2007.
He has been seconded by SUGL (Seven Uquo Gas Limited) to the Joint Venture Operations.
He speaks and writes French fluently.
Wole Adefila – General Manager, Operations
Mr. Adefila started his career as a Seismologist in the oil and gas industry working with a number of international seismic acquisition companies. In 1992, he joined Shell Nigeria and for over a 12 year period, worked on various assignments ranging from managing complex seismic field operations to sub-surface development. He also served as Manager, Sub-Surface Development and was responsible for field development within one of the six area production teams within Shell Nigeria.
Mr. Adefila joined the Frontier Oil team in 2005 as the Sub-surface Development Manager and rose to the post of General Manager, Operations, a role in which he has the responsibility for the management, coordination and execution of all field operations on Frontier Oil’s Uquo Marginal Field, including a major seismic data acquisition campaign during the turbulent 2006/2007 period in the Niger-Delta.
Mr. Adefila obtained a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Ibadan.
Demola Alabi – Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining Frontier Oil Limited, Mr. Alabi was the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Investment Banking at Afrinvest (West Africa) Limited where he managed a team responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of raising investment capital as well as financial and strategic advisory transactions.
In his career spanning many years, Mr. Alabi has occupied various roles in corporate finance, starting with his Associate years at Bank of America Securities in New York where he gained significant financial advisory experience, executing public and private market transactions with a focus on capital raising and M&A activities. Alabi also trained as a Financial Manager and Analyst with Investment Banking and Trust Company Limited (now Stanbic IBTC Bank Limited) where he held roles in the Treasury and Private Wealth Management units. During this period he developed relevant skills in Money Market & Currency Trading, Product Development, Portfolio Management, Project Management and Business Process Engineering.
Alabi joined the Frontier Oil team in 2012 occupying the position responsible for the Company’s commercial and finance functions. He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Lagos and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Dokun Adeyemo – Human Resource Advisor
Mr. Adeyemo started his career in Shell Nigeria and within 20 years, he served in various roles in the Human Resources Management and Project Management functions in both Nigeria and the Netherlands. Within this period, he developed key competencies which include keen insight into the challenges of organizational systems and leadership; individual and team performance management skills; and conflict management skills, garnered through several successful engagement and negotiations with top management and the Unions in the oil & gas industry, etc.
Adeyemo holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Lagos. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Nigeria.
